School
Tours
We
offer a fun and educational experience for children and teachers.
Our
tour takes about 1½ hours and includes:
Rainy
day tours are just as fun when we hide gourds in the barn, bin-pick
for apples and experience apple tasting in the schoolhouse.
There
is a 15-person minimum for tours. (Smaller groups are welcome
to come out on their own and pay regular admission.) The cost
is $4.00/person; one adult at no charge.
Tours are held only Monday through Friday and begin at
9:30am, 11:15am, 1pm and 4pm. We have picnic tables if
you want to bring sack lunches, and a large lawn to play on after
lunch.
We
recommend that you call us to make your tour reservation.
Time slots fill up fast, so calling is more likely to secure your
chosen slot.
When
you call, it will be helpful if you have the following information
ready:
-
date and time (see list above) you would like to visit

- how
many children are coming
- how
many adults will be with them
- age
of the children
- any
children with special needs?
- phone
numbers at which to reach you in both daytime and evening
(we are often away from the phone during the daytime).
Of
course, you are also welcome to email
the above information to us, but please understand that--in this
case--email is not the most efficient.
We
accept cash, check, MasterCard, Visa and Discover. We also accept
purchase orders for tour groups.
Teachers:
The Iowa Farm Bureau provides grants up to $200 for field trips
and other educational needs. Get more information here
or by calling 515-225-5425.
